The "Príncipe Felipe" Congress Hall-Auditorium was inaugurated in spring 1999. Its opening was a turning point for business tourism in the city of Oviedo and marked a crossroads for the hotel, catering and service sectors that have experienced significant development over recent years.

The building has been designed in a highly individualistic neoclassic style on the old water deposit in Oviedo, respecting its original architecture with the arches and vaults of the former tank that dates back to 1846. The water, the light and the size of the areas are the main identifying marks of the Congress Hall, which has now become the driving force of business and cultural tourism in Asturias.

The "Príncipe Felipe" Congress Hall-Auditorium offers over 18,000 square meters, of which 5,000 are for Professional Congress Organizers, and a total capacity for 3,200 people split into four large areas and 7 conference rooms that can be converted into areas of different sizes, relaxation areas and an exhibition hall. These characteristics provide a modern, multi-purpose framework for meetings of all kinds.

The building has been internally structured to house different types of events at the same time, such as exhibitions, congresses, monographic exhibitions and concerts with the utmost acoustic quality, as the great masters of international classical music have witnessed.

The large communal areas like the main lobby and the top hall are of great architectural quality and suitable for the installation of stands and are equipped with telephone, electricity and internet facilities. Its communications systems offer all the possibilities for voice, data and image transmission through the radio and TV, as well as videoconferencing, audiovisual projections in all its rooms and WI-FI system.
